If you are a pet owner, your first step is to visit a vet clinic. Any vet clinic can apply for help from our charity on your behalf if you have no other way to pay for urgent care for your pet.
If the issue is not urgent and you are on a pension, experiencing homelessness or hold a Healthcare Card you may also qualify for assistance via the Tiny Vet Clinic. More information can be found about the Tiny Vet Clinic here.
When seeking assistance from the charity, you will first need to complete a VetPay application, as this is how we assess financial need. Please do this before asking for assistance and so that you can show your veterinarian that you have applied. If your pet needs an elective, non-urgent procedure you can also access an interest-free loan via local organisations Care, Good Shepherd or Centrelink. There is more information on how to get help on the PAWS Network page.
If your pet is in need of urgent veterinary attention and it is after hours, please contact The Animal Referral Hospital at Piallago Canberra Veterinary Emergency Service in Gunghalin or the Walk in Clinic for Animals in Belconnen. They can all apply for financial help on your behalf if you qualify for assistance.
Please do not wait for us to respond if your pet needs veterinary attention, please ring a veterinary clinic.
