Meet Our Team

ACT Pet Crisis Support is entirely run by a dedicated group of volunteers. We have been brought together by a shared vision to avoid unnecessary suffering and euthanasia of beloved family pets.

ACT Pet Crisis Support is an Incorporated Association, registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission in March 2019.

Read more about some of our team below. We are always keen for more volunteers to help with the charity. If you are interested in volunteering please contact us.

THE TEAM

PRESIDENT - Nicky

Nicky joined ACT Pet Crisis Support in 2019 and brings over 35 years’ experience as a veterinary nurse. She lives with her three children and what can only be described as a small zoo — two dogs, two cats, six lizards, one snake, two sun conures, two green-cheek conures and two canaries — and she wouldn’t have it any other way.

SECRETARY - Sue

Sue has supported ACT Pet Crisis Support since its inception and met Eloise while volunteering with Pets in the Park. A strong advocate for animal welfare and the prevention of cruelty to animals, Sue continues to volunteer with a number of charitable organisations and shares her home with two much-loved rescue dogs.

VOLUNTEER VET - Eloise

Dr Eloise Bright co-founded ACT Pet Crisis Support in 2019, inspired to prevent pets being euthanised due to financial hardship. A Canberra local and shelter veterinarian, she works at the RSPCA and runs Canberra Behaviour Vet. Eloise stepped away from the charity in July 2025 but continues to support APCS as the registered veterinarian for the Tiny Vet Clinic.

VOLUNTEER VET - Helen

Helen is a semi-retired veterinarian who feels very privileged to provide veterinary care for these precious pets that need it most. In addition to Tiny Vet Clinic, Helen volunteers at RSPCA, Pets in the Park, Vets Beyond Borders and does contracted animal health programs with AMRRIC serving indigenous communities in NT and Nauru. Helen is so grateful to be part of veterinary teams of nurses and admin folk who love animals and work hard to improve their health and comfort.
