Donations Breakdown
Lets be transparent
Many people have reservations about giving to charities. They want their money to go towards those truly in need. That’s why we’ve broken down what our annual expenses look like, so that you can see how we’re using your generous donations. To view our Annual Reports visit here.
Where do my donations go?
At ACT Pet Crisis Support our highest priority is ensuring that your donations go directly to animals in need. That is why over 94% of our donations were used to pay vet bills directly relating to our mission – avoiding economic euthanasia of pets. Our other costs are operational, including initial outlay for fundraisers and other unavoidable expenses .
So what are operational costs?
Operational costs are integral to running a charity. ACT Pet Crisis Support is run solely by volunteers, which means no donation money is going towards wages. Our standard operational costs, which used approximately 2.9% of our yearly donations, include running our website and social media, promotional materials to help spread awareness for our charity, bank and post office box fees.
We also used a small portion (approximately 2.2%) of our donations to host fundraising events, such as our annual gala dinner. This in turn brings in donations that recoup the event expenses and roll over into our donation pool for veterinary costs.
